North Texas LEAD Celebrates 10 Years of Service

North Texas LEAD opened it’s doors for business on August 11, 2001 on the campus of BNSF Railway.   The location has not changed, but the nonprofit changed its name to North Texas Leaders and Executives Advocating Diversity in January 2007.  Rosa Navejar, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has agreed to chair the planning for LEAD’s 10th Anniversary.

One of the early leaders of LEAD is P.D. Shabay. At the September 2010 LEAD Candidate Networking Reception, Shabay, Bell Helicopter Textron’s former Chief Human Resources Officer told candidates that the fact that they were attending a Candidate Networking Reception was an indicator of success.  Shabay, a TCU Horned Frog Legend, shared the history of LEAD with candidates who appreciated his candor.
