Job Description
American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to perform the following duties: As part of Enterprise Infrastructure Systems (EIS) Application Hosting Shared Service team, responsible for WebSphere, tcServer and Data Caching shared service activities that include installing, maintaining and tuning the application server clusters in the development and testing environment. Perform issue resolution, daily performance and availability monitoring. Ensure compliance in related tasks with Enterprise policies and procedures. Responsible for supporting implementation of new middleware infrastructure through design, capacity planning, installing, configuring and deploying. Installing, Configuring and troubleshooting of WebSphere, tcServer and GigaSpace in all distributed environments. Configure Databases, JDBC provider, JMS Queue, Data Sources, Federated LDAP configuration and SSL certificates for WebSphere Application Server. Perform WAS, tcServer, GigaSpace version upgrades and/or migration, applying fix packs and work with systems engineers for upgrades to operating systems, hardware, etc. Design, engineer and implement Middleware application load balancing and clustering solutions to provide for high availability. Document the various procedures involved in the day-to-day maintenance of the environments. Automate the builds, deployments using Jython, WSadmin, tcsadmin and shell scripting.
Job Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or in systems or infrastructure engineering or administration, plus demonstrated experience in: Installing, configuring and administering WebSphere Application Server, IBM HTTP servers; Setup and Maintain GigaSpace environments for Data Caching; Installing, configuring and administering pivotal tcServer, Webserver, Hyperic server, App Director, vCloud, VMware VRA; Knowledge of J2EE; Designing application servers on Virtualization technologies and VMware; Installing, configuring and administering Tomcat and Apache webserver; Automation using Shell, jython, tcsadmin and WSadmin scripting; Setting up application servers on Linux, Solaris and Windows operating systems; Analyzing performance issues of WebSphere, tcServer and GigaSpace; Setting up load-balancers and redirectors for high availability; Designing and implementing SSL, Encryption services and Siteminder.
