Sr. Airport Planner
The primary responsibilities of the Sr. Airport Planner will be to manage airport planning activities ranging from small to large projects addressing airport development, infrastructure, and land use needs. Additional responsibilities include preparation of master plans demand/capacity analysis, airfield and terminal planning, facility requirements, alternatives analysis, capital improvement programs, Airport Layout Plans, site selection studies, obstruction analysis, forecasting, noise and environmental evaluations, terminal area plans, sustainability evaluations, and other airport planning tasks and projects
Performance Objectives:
  • Develop work plans and apply strategic thinking to provide innovative, sustainable solutions to Airport’s planning needs.
  •  Assist in the development and preparation of updates to the Airport Master Plan to meet future aviation demand.
  • Supervise and monitor performance of consultants conducting short and long range airport planning studies. Examples may include 10-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) updates, annual activity forecasts, airfield and airspace analysis, facility and land use planning studies as well as passenger facilitation assessments.
  • Analyze Airport Board and tenant initiated projects to ensure compatibility with the Airport Master Plan, the 10-year CIP and DFW Airport standards
  • Determine airport process improvements using detailed analytical simulation, modeling, and optimization to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Preparation of Technical White Papers, programming and conceptual design submittals, and detailed reports pertainging to a multitude of planning studies.
  • Oversight and management of delivery orders, including but not limited to, project scoping, estimating, fee negotiation, stakeholder collaboration and obtaining Board acceptance.
