The ideal candidate for this position will research and identify construction related products to be sold in Acme Brick Company stores. This position manages company purchased products group (non-flooring products), directs and coordinates activities of vendors & associates engaged in the purchase, sales and distribution of other purchased products, and purchased stone and purchased face brick.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Gathers product & market information to justify new product introductions for Company.
  • Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at competitive prices while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
  • Acts as Company liaison with all major vendor partners communicating pricing, product, personnel change, and any important vendor announcements.
  • Spends time in the field in an effort to determine what products/services are needed and being sold across the Company’s market area.
  • Assists with vendor product sales tools; including marketing brochures, displays, samples and other support materials. May assist location(s) with go-to-market strategy for new products.
  • Works with Company Marketing Department providing input on Company website for purchased products vendors.
  • Resolves vendor issues or misunderstandings as it relates to product quality, territory, invoices, pricing, and collections.
  • Negotiates vendor pricing when possible and creates opportunities to strengthen relationships with the vendor.
  • Assists locations with the most cost effective means of transportation for purchased products procurement.
  • Periodically visits new and existing vendor facilities to ensure vendor is capable of properly supplying Acme Brick Company.
  • Attends major trade shows (National Homebuilders, National Hardscape, American Institute of Architects, and other related trade shows.)
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
