Job Description
 
Key role for the Manager, Strategic Leisure Sales-Pacific is managing a Pacific Sales team of 9 people based in LAX, DFW and CHI responsible for top wholesale/consolidator APAC leisure accounts. Fluency in at least one of the main APAC languages (Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean) and knowledge/ experience in the APAC marketplace and cultures is preferred. This position is responsible for executing the Specialty Products and Strategic Leisure plan focused on net fare programs with primary emphasis on Asia Pacific performance. Developing new accounts and new business is a primary element within the Strategic plan parallel to growing existing APAC net program customer business. Manager, Strategic Leisure Sales-Pacific is involved in regular participation in weekly PJB business cycle meetings, where proactive and reactive pricing and program adjustments are determined by channel performance. Primary focus is gaining intended performance relative to the sub-channel expectation by working closely with Account Managers on account performance, competitive feedback and tactical opportunities. Mentor account sales team to resolve issues, improve value based selling competencies and utilize creative account strategies in tactical selling. Participate in joint sales calls with internal stakeholders and JB partners to improve relationships and performance. Be the intermediary for the team’s needs within the Specialty Products/Strategic Leisure leadership. Conduct team performance meetings and include JB partners where appropriate.
As part of the development of APAC business with language speakers on the Pacific Sales team, it will be important to support the Account Managers efforts in community outreach with customer engagement events, sponsorships and educational trips. In addition, supporting our internal AA stakeholders to advance efforts in cultural community marketing in specific languages, tying into supportive airport employee resources, and contributing to the strategy on how we influence the buying decisions within these cultural communities is important. Regular coordination with PJB counterparts is a functional requirement to achieve best alignment and consistent product offering.
