Seeking Senior IT Business Planner to perform duties associated with managing information technology projects, provide lead and complex information technology analysis and support to the Property Management  Department.
The selected candidate will work with process owners and various stakeholders to elicit, document, analyze, validate and communicate requirements; they will lead projects that procure, program, configure, implement and maintain IT technology solutions including support for the Vue Works, GIS applications and support for customized programs for accelerated programming; and will execute a broad range of duties, including technical analysis, training and contract management ; be responsible for the strategic and tactical aspects of our Asset Management Program while ensuring that our limited resources are applied to the assets in the most need or highest risk.
Successful candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and orally to make project presentations to all levels of the organization; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; and have an analytical approach to decision-making. The candidate should be able to think independently and work with minimal supervision when provided with a task or objective.
Duties will include, but not limited to:    
  • Plan and Manage  IT technology projects;
  • Business process mapping and re-engineering;
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical staff to implement  IT technology projects across variety of  departments;
  • Development and management of asset performance levels, asset lifecycles, accessing asset risk, valuation and forecasting;
  • Manage Department’s IT budget;
  • Write and collaborate with IT staff to write business and technical requirements specifications;
  • Identify and manage project issues and risks;
  • Facilitate process and documentation of software and configuration needs and recommend changes;
  • Document process flows, workflows and analysis and resolution of business process problems using technology;
  • Make presentations to technical and non-technical audiences;
  • Provide End User Training on technologies acquired or developed and maintain SOPs;
  • Write project status and activity reports;
  • Use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Analyze data;
  • Development of robust reporting around asset types and productive work efforts done in multiple fields; and
  • Supervise staff in the future.
Skills / Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Programming, Computer Technology or a related field PLUS six (6) years of business experience, business analysis, project management, and information technology experience or related field.
Job Preferences
Preferred candidates will have experience in the following:
  • A technical and business analytical background that enhances their project management, business analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, and facilitation skills;
  • Municipal or local government experience;
  • Knowledge of asset management software and best practices for infrastructure;
  • Proficiency with mapping business processes;
  • Demonstrated capabilities of developing levels of service for assets;
  • A mastery of MS Office suite of products (including MS Project);
  • The ability to research, analyze and evaluate new information technology methods and techniques; and
  • Knowledge of fleet or building systems and asset management.
