GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general direction of the Planning VP or designee, directs or participates in all aspects of long-range and short-range airport facility development planning. Work involves independent, as-well as facilitating group, application of airport planning principles, analysis and strategic decision-making to develop, refine and implement elements of the Airport Master Plan. Directs, manages, and supervises in-house Airport Planning staff; oversees management of consultant planning studies and represents the airport on planning related matters.  
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Directs the preparation of short- and long-term planning studies; ensures the accuracy and adequacy of technical work and the soundness of principles used in planning projects.
  2. Manages the development of the Airport Master Plan and the Airport Layout Plan: encompasses airside, landside and terminal development, ground access, environmental compliance and land use and monitors off-airport development trends.
  3. Supervises airport planning professionals, coordinates staff assignments, accuracy and delivery.
  4. Develops and manages data collection and analysis of data associated with airport development.
  5. Manages special projects related to the airport, the aviation industry and intergovernmental affairs.
  6. Serves as liaison between the airport and airport tenants, public agencies, civic organizations and the general public concerning airport development and off-airport height-hazard restrictions.
  7. Coordinates planning studies with other Airport divisions and departments and provides direct analytical/planning support to individual business units of the airport.
  8. Prepares group budget requests and administers the group’s approved budget.
  9. Participates in the selection, training, and evaluation of staff.
  10. Analyzes contracts, reviews pay requests, reviews submittals and schedules, establishes and enforces development criteria and standards.
