Description: The President/Chief Medical Officer champions the strategic planning process and ensures alignment with JPS Health Network (JPS) goals and initiatives while providing oversight and leadership to the Acclaim Physician Group, Inc. (Acclaim). The President/CMO will position Acclaim to achieve industry-leading performance while identifying critical success factors. The President/CMO will create an environment of collaboration, respect, transparency and accountability fostering opportunities for personal growth and professional excellence, empowering Acclaim providers and staff. The President/CMO is the physician executive representative to the Acclaim Executive Committee and a frequent participant in numerous leadership forums within JPS designed to promote constructive collaboration across the system to ensure maximum identity and alignment with and between JPS and Acclaim. Typical
  1. Work with and represent providers and physician leaders to optimize operational decisions and process improvement initiatives, while leading Acclaim to develop innovative healthcare practices to best support community needs.
  2. Develop short and long-range goals and tactical plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with JPS goals, objectives and mission.
  3. Provides leadership for Acclaim, including employed and contracted physician partnerships
  4. Reports to Acclaim Physician Board of Directors and JPS Board of Managers through the Acclaim Executive Committee.
  5. Collaborates with the Acclaim Chief Operating Officer to ensure fiscal success and optimal operational capacity and service delivery.
  6. Reviews and approves financial reports, budgets, contracts, major expenditures and helps negotiate provider contracts.
  7. Serves as the chief clinical spokesman of Acclaim and reports performance outcomes and/or provides operational and clinical updates through various committees, to JPS executives, the Acclaim Executive Committee and the JPS Board of Managers.
  8. Collaborates with other executives regarding major medical group decisions, process changes, and projects.
  9. Works with health network partners to build awareness and comply with group regulatory standards and practices.
  10. Aligns patient survey results with network initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement. Applies critical analysis and creative thinking to gain understanding of each service line’s contributions to both the organization and the patient experience—looking for innovation and growth opportunities.
  11. Provide oversight of risk management, professional liability programs, quality assurance/improvement efforts and utilization review processes while working collaboratively with Acclaim’s Board of Directors.
  12. Participates as an ambassador of JPS and Acclaim in external activities to create attitudes of confidence, respect and support for the entire JPS network.
  13. Consistent with the JPS and Acclaim strategic plan, seeks and leverages current and new business opportunities to improve or expand Acclaim’s services in response to the needs of the community and the patients served.
  14. Continuously improves and develops Acclaim by staying informed of changes in health related legislation, developments in leadership theory and practices and improvements in healthcare delivery systems.
  15. Builds an effective and aligned leadership Team which engages all Acclaim Physician Group leadership and staff in process improvement work, focused on eliminating waste and continuously adding value for patients, families and the community.
  16. Foster and promote an organizational culture of diversity, inclusion and cultural competency.
