BNSF

The Experienced First Line Supervisor program is specifically designed to develop leaders that will drive the future of our organization. This position is a leadership role at BNSF Railway. These individuals lead a diverse workgroup to safely and efficiently accomplish work assignments and goals that are in line with the company’s vision. 
 
Work Location: BNSF System Wide - Could include: Chicago, IL; Albuquerque, NM; Kansas City, KS; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK
Anticipated Start Date: March 2018
Salary Range: $72,900
 
RELOCATION WILL BE REQUIRED.
**This position may be filled at any of our locations across the 28 states that BNSF Railway operates.  Candidates must be willing to relocate**
 
TRAINING:  The Experienced First Line Supervisor program begins with a fast-paced, intensive training program that includes: Two (2) weeks orientation conducted at our company headquarters in Fort Worth, TX; Two to three (2-3) weeks’ technical (e.g. rules, safety) and personnel training conducted at our Technical Training Center (TTC) in Overland Park, KS; and associated on-the-job field training conducted at assigned location.
 
DUTIES /RESPONSIBILITIES: Upon completion of training, Experienced First Line Supervisor Engineering new hires may be placed in one of the following teams as a supervisor to BNSF employees, contractors, or consultants:
 
1. TRACK
  • SUPERVISION 
    • Supervise existing track maintenance projects on a designated territory.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies.
    • Supervise maintenance and construction employees in a union environment.
 
  • MANAGEMENT 
    • Assign and coordinate daily schedules for personnel.
    • Execute divisional plans, monitor and manage costs.
    • Conduct operational tests, implement safety programs.
 
  • COMMUNICATION 
    • Interface and coordinate with the Transportation Department, including Dispatchers and Trainmasters, to execute the maintenance plan.
    • Work with local, county and state agencies.
 
2. SIGNAL
  • SUPERVISION 
    • Supervise existing signal and various other electronic controls/signal maintenance projects, as well as new signal construction projects on a designated territory.
    • Supervise signal technicians, maintainers and other new construction employees in a union environment.
 
  • MANAGEMENT 
    • Assign and coordinate daily schedules for personnel.
    • Execute divisional plans, monitor and manage costs.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies.
    • Conduct operational tests, implement safety programs.
 
  • COMMUNICATION 
    • Interface and coordinate with other Engineering Department personnel, as well as with the Transportation Department, including Dispatchers and Trainmasters, to execute signal maintenance and construction projects.
    • Work with local, county and state agencies.
