Consulting Security Engineer II / Sr Consulting Security Engineer

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform daily operational functions such as firewall rule implementation, threat based risk assessments, VPN configurations, Proxy support and Radius related tasks
  • Design highly secure network based security solutions, providing detailed Visio diagrams and defined processes and standards
  • Help remediate security incidents by interfacing with internal customer teams and other tool vendors.
  • Perform log analysis, use of IDS, IPS, and/or other signature technology.
  • Experience with an enterprise class ticketing system.
  • Manage and maintain SLA’s negotiated with our customers.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency support.
 
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of Information Technology experience with network technologies, specifically TCP/IP, and related network tools and concepts
  • At least 7 years of experience with designing and maintaining security related technologies, specifically firewalls, IPS, proxy solutions and VPN implementations
  • SME knowledge level in designing and configuring various Palo Alto firewall solutions
  • Extensive experience with managing large numbers of firewalls with Palo’s Panorama management tool.
  • Knowledge of scripting language and ability to automate things as necessary
  • Demonstrable comprehension of Information Security including malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management
  • Ability to understand and write hex, binary, regular expression, etc.
  • Experience using SIEM solution or log management solution in a large and highly complex environment
  • Extensive experience creating alerts, dashboards, and reports.
  • Ability to document processes and procedures alongside cross training the rest of the team.
  • Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills
  • Customer service including the resolution of customer escalations, incident handling, and response
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated outstanding work ethic
  • Strong team player that collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources
